Forgiveness towards Self and Others
Lack of forgiveness towards oneself can greatly restrict the spontaneous free flow of energy in our lives. Many clients I've worked with over the past 23 years harbour deep issues of self judgement and blame. This inner sense of being "wrong" or "bad" then becomes the driving force behind their stress; causing them to strain and strive to "prove" their worth in the world. In this way, instead of plumbing the depths of their natural talents, inspiration and resources, they're approaching their lives from a false belief of "I'm not good enough". When we examine and then release these harsh self judgements, the ability to let go of condemnation towards others also becomes possible. We set free so much energy that we can then invest in our lives from an inner depth of freedom, self acceptance and joy.
Cutting the Ties that Bind
This priceless technique developed many years ago by Phyllis Crystal is designed to set us free of negative influences and manipulations from others. We may even be limited by the judgements and narrow beliefs passed on to us from a long deceased teacher or parent - beliefs that have never served or empowered us in our lives. Similarly, there may be people whom we haven't seen in many years, but who still exert a negative influence on our lives - these are influences from which we need to be set free.
Feelings of love, compassion and tenderness are in no way affected by the cutting of these ties. On the contrary, it uncovers feelings of love that can be expressed in a natural spontaneous way. In cutting these ties, we dynamically affect relationships from both sides - the other person is also benevolently affected by this work. We can then reconnect to our own inner wisdom, intuition and self guidance. Cutting the Ties that Bind creates a space of clarity in what may formerly have been a complicated, painful relationship. After practising this technique, some people report heart warming reconciliations - others say they've found the courage and inspiration to move on in their lives to a whole exciting new arena.
While there will be some sharing, the experiences of the day will mostly be the priceless work we do within the depths of our own heart and mind.
